Bio-LINCOSPEC Powder for Oral Solution, is a white colored powder which is easily dissolved in water, each g contains lincomycin hydrochloride equal to 222 mg lincomycin base and spectinomycin sulfate tetrahydrate equal to 444mg spectinomycin.

Bio-LINCOSPEC Powder for Oral Solution consists of the broad active compound of two antibiotics named Lincomycin and Spectinomycin. Lincomycin is an antibiotic obtained from lincolnensis belonging to lincosamide class. 50S ribosomal effects the subunits and inhibits ribosomal protein synthesis. Spectinomycin is an aminoxylitol structured antibiotic from aminoglycoside group, obtained from Streptomycin spectabilis. 30S ribosomal effects the subunits and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. Antibacterial activity of Lincomycin is especially effective on gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. Bacillus sp., Corynebacterium sp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp. (excluding Enterococcus cpp), Campylobacter sp., Actinomyces sp., Bacteroides sp. (including Bac. Fragilis), Clostridium perfringens (excluding Clostridium sp), Fusobacterium sp., anaerobic cocci are sensitive. Gram negative bacteria especially Klebsiella sp., Salmonella sp., Pseudomonas sp., Pasteurella sp. are resistant.
Spectinomycin is especially effective on gram negatives. Besides, it is also effective on gram positive bacteria. Mainly effective on Mycoplasma gallisepticum, M. meleagridis, M. synoviae, E. coli, P Multocida, Salmonella spp., N. Gonorrhoeoa, Shigella spp., Strep. pneumonia, Strep. Pynogenes. Anaerobic bacteria and Pseudomonas spp. are resistant.
Lincomycin is quickly absorbed from intestines following oral administration and within 2-4 hours it reaches the peak concentration level in blood. Following administration, 70% of Lincomycin is carried by binding to plasma proteins and it reaches very high penetration value especially in mucus. Its distribution is good in bone tissue. Even there is no inflammation, it is diffused in pleural and peritoneal liquid. In addition to this, Lincomycin is concentrated on the infection region by being carried especially with polymorphonucleer neutrophils.
Upon administration, Lincomycin is mainly eliminated by excretion (77%) and urination (14%).
Upon oral administration, Spectinomycin is absorbed from intestines at low levels (<10%). Radio labeling studies showed that metabolization of spectinomycin is at very low levels. Most of the orally administered spectinomycin is eliminated through excretion and a small amount of it is eliminated through urination.

Bio-Lincospec Powder for Oral Solution is indicated for treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria in broiler chicken and turkey poults and especially for treatment of CRD Complex, turkey air sack infections caused by Mycoplasma sp and coliform microorganisms together and chronic
respiration system infection (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma sp.

For the treatment of CRD and chronic respiration system infection in broiler chicken:
It is administered through drinking water to chicks on a total of 50 mg antibiotic activity/day basis for every kg of live weight. The amount of Bio­Lincospec Powder of Oral Solution (in g) required for one day treatment is calculated by multiplying the total of live weights (in kg) of chicks to be treated by the coefficient of 0.075. It is recommended to be given by adding into drinking water consisting of an amount that can be consumed within 12-24 hours. The drug water preparation should be used as the principal water resource. Treatment should begin when the first findings of disease are observed.
For the air sack infection treatment of turkeys:
For turkey poults, during the first 3-5 days of their life, total 150 mg antibiotic activity/day for each kg of live weight, is administered through drinking water. It is recommended to be given by adding into drinking water consisting of an amount that can be consumed within 12-24 hours. The drug water preparation should be used as the principal water resource.

The amount of Bio-Lincospec Powder of Oral Solution (in g) required for one day treatment is calculated by multiplying the total of live weights (in kg) of poults to be treated by the coefficient of 0.225. It is recommended to be given by adding into drinking water consisting of an amount that can be consumed within 12-24 hours. The drug water preparation should be used as the principal water resource and normal drinking water can be used when preparation is finished.
