In the vial of the FUMAJIL – A Oral Dose, 833 mg bicyclohecsilamonyum fumagilin that is equal to 500 mg fumagilin activity is available. It has light yellow colour and powder form.

Being the active substance of the FUMAJIL – A Oral Dose, fumagilin is an antibiotic that is obtained mushroom called Aspergillus furnigatus and it affects the parasite called Nosema apis that create diseases in the intestines of bees. But it is ineffective to the spores of the parasite. It shows its impact by inhibiting the RNA synthesis

In honeybees, it is used against the single-cell parasite called Nosema apis (protozoon) that create the Nosematosis disease.

In the beehives where the disease is experienced, 2 times of application must be conducted in spring and autumn since there is the possibility of being infected by the Nosema apis spores.
Spring disinfection: (Late February – early March)
Preparation of the syrup with the drug__: 1 kg sugar is melted and cooled down in 1 lt hot water to prepare the 1/1 ratio of syrup. After cooling the syrup, the drug is mixed (42 ˚C).
Pharmacological Dose :
For each beehive, 100 mg fumagilin active substance is calculated and given in 2 days.
Practical dose:
* A lid-full of FUMAJIL – A Oral Powder containing 100 mg fumagilin is added into a 5 litters of syrup and given to a beehive in 2 days.
* If healing is not ensured, the application is repeated.

Autumn disinfection: (September – December)
Preparation of the syrup with the drug__: 2 kg sugar is melted and cooled down in 1 lt hot water to prepare the 2/1 ratio of syrup. After cooling the syrup, the drug is mixed.
It is used in order to protect the bees from diseases in inter seasons.
Dose :
For each 1 beehive, 100 mg fumagilin active substance is calculated:
Practical dose:
* A lid-full of FUMAJIL – A Oral Powder containing 100 mg fumagilin is added into a 5 litters of syrup and given to a beehive in 2 days.
* A bottle of FUMAJIL – A Oral Powder containing 500 mg fumagilin is added into a 25 litters of syrup and given to 5 beehives in 2 days.
Winter food of these bees must be prepared after completely consuming the syrup with the drug.
Spray method:
Application by spreading onto the frames.
Some FUMAJIL – A Oral Powder ( a bottle containing 500 mg fumagilin) is mixed with two –part powder sugar in a homogenous manner. By the help of a saltshaker it is spread on the frames and used in 2 days for the bee colony. This method of application is the method preferred specifically in very wet months.

It has been put on the market in 25 g amber coloured glass bottles and carton boxes.
